Peony Events Vintage Americana Wedding Published in New Jersey Bride Magazine

Morristown, N.J., We're so excited to see our amazing couple, Ali & Eric's Vintage Americana Wedding at The Ryland Inn published in the Fall/Winter 2016 issue of New Jersey Bride's Magazine!

When Ali's mom, Celia, came into my office we connected right away and she says she knew we were the perfect fit for their family! It was truly an honor to get to know both Ali & Eric's families + be their full wedding planners, event designers & fashion stylists. Once we understood their vision and personalities, we knew what vendors to pair them with..

Huge thanks to all who were involved: Jardiniere Fine Flowers, Images by Berit, NJ Photobooths, Jenny Yoo, Lazaro Bridal, JB Lighting Production, Baked by Melissa, Craft Hair Studio, Make up by Kathy Genchi, Lost in Paris, The Carolina Gents

We feel like we are part of the family now, we're planning another event for the Rulle's for this fall and we cannot wait for another special celebration with a family we just adore!

Peony Events Featured in Unplugged Weddings Article

We were contacted a couple of weeks ago by the very talented freelance writer, Jill Jaracz. The topic: Unplugged Weddings - The Smartphone vs The Wedding. We couldn't resist talking about such a hot topic!

The unplugged weddings article was picked up by several outlets nationwide, here are just a few!

Check out the article, we feel pretty giddy to be quoted right next to etiquette expert Emily post's great granddaughter, Lizzie Post, a co-author of Emily Post's Etiquette, 18th edition and co-author of Great Get-TogethersLet us know your thoughts on Unplugged Weddings and if you had one or will be having one!

NJ Wedding Planner

Tell us a bit about yourself and your company:

My career began in the fashion world. I dedicated a decade to the fashion and luxury goods industry, planning events for top designers including Michael Kors, Giorgio Armani and David Yurman. After fashion, I leaped into corporate event planning where I produced large-scale conferences and traveled to some of the top resorts nationwide. It wasn’t until the planning of my own wedding that I (a hopeless romantic) realized my true passion—weddings!! Peony Events was established with love in 2011.

We create and produce one-of-a-kind, personalized and exquisite events customized with the style and personality of the bride and groom. Our creative team of planners and designers will bring your vision to life and produce the event of your dreams.
From start to finish, our goal is to create a package that will ensure both the bride & groom enjoy their entire day to the fullest. We are here to make their lives easy and lead them every step of the way. While they are spending time with friends and family we will be behind the scenes making sure they have a relaxed and blissful wedding day experience.

What’s your favorite part of the job?

Everything! I’ll narrow it down to my top 3:

  1. The Story—I love hearing their “story.” Each couple is so unique and their wedding day should reflect their personalities. By getting to know my clients, I can better understand their vision for their special day.
  2. The Design—since my background is in fashion & design, I love producing their personal fairytale fashion show. From assisting my bride to find the gown of her dreams, to styling the entire wedding party and selecting the color story, floral & décor. Watching it all come to life the day of the wedding is truly magical. When I see the bride and groom’s face when they walk into the room, the feeling is priceless.
  3. The First Dance—such a special moment to capture the newlywed love. I love watching them take in each other, without a care in the world, as if they are the only two in the room. I tear up every time.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned, and would pass along to other new wedding planners just getting started?

Be prepared for anything and everything. From rain at an outdoor ceremony, to a bride who has red wine spilled on her dress–anything is possible and you are the go to person who is prepared and ready to take action.

Recently, I received a panicked call from a bride the morning of her wedding. She lived in San Diego, but was having her wedding in New Jersey. She realized she forgot her earrings and asked if I had any for her “something borrowed.” I quickly located and packed up my bridal earrings as well as a few other pairs that would match her gown. Luckily, she found a pair that suited her perfectly.

What are your hobbies or non-work-related activities?

Being active, spending time with my husband and our two yorkies and visiting quaint towns to find unique pieces for our home.

Any great stories from working with a client?

We had a secret ceremony once; no one knows to this day that the couple was actually married prior to their “wedding day,” except the Reverend, my husband and I (since we were their witnesses).

What is your current favorite color combination?

Pantone’s Grayed Jade & Linen-soft, romantic & neutral. Perfect for a spring garden wedding! Read about it in our blog here.

Are there any trends that you absolutely love or would love to see brides leave behind?

We love the ombre weddings. Bridesmaids wearing colors from light to dark + floral centerpieces.

Brooch bouquets, I just think bouquets are meant for flowers. If bride’s want to incorporate a few into the mix, that’s ok, but we’re all about the blossoming bouquets.
