Peony Events Entertaining 101 | Welcome Drinks

Entertaining is all about being gracious and keeping guests engaged from the beginning of an event to the very end. We suggest to treat your guests the way you would want to be treated at someone else's affair. Also, let's not forget that first impressions make lasting impressions. Case in point, "Welcome Drinks!"

We like to welcome the guests of Peony Events with a beautiful entrance, which includes a welcome drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), upon their arrival. Whether it's to the ceremony or entering the cocktail hour (post church), it's always a nice, simple touch! Depending on your decor, event layout or drink selections, you can opt to have them butler-passed on trays (with lovely accents of course - personalized napkins, fruit garnishes, patterned straws, & flowers!) by waiters greeting at the entrance or they can be put on a beautiful display stand/table (something unique). Either way, guests will l-o-v-e it!

For spring/summer weddings opt for something extra refreshing + ice cold, for the colder months, something to warm them up with! Here are a few from some of our real weddings & events. {Photo Credits: Top 5 Images by Berit, bottom 4 Elena Wolfe Photography}

Wedding Planning Tips for Winter Weddings

It’s no surprise that winter is the least popular season to get married, however, it can be the most cost-effective. Most couples opt for summer and fall which is considered peak wedding season (followed by spring), but if you're on a tight budget, December - February (November & March sometimes too) can offer great deals for your big day.  Just follow these simple winter wedding planning tips to keep you and your wedding guests warmhearted.

Since most wedding gowns are strapless or thin-strapped, having a winter wedding gives brides the opportunity to add amazing accessories and really put a spin on their bridal fashion.  Both brides and grooms can incorporate different fabrics and textures, such as tweed, wool, and fur for an original and stylish look. Create fun photo ops with mittens, snow boots and winter hats, if snow is present, write something fun in it!

Winter Weddings

Always make sure there’s plenty of heat to go around,  just be sure you’re following the Fire Marshall’s requirements to keep your space safe, especially if you have to use any type of blow heaters.  Be careful not to turn up the heat too much, as well; a crowd in any room will up the temp significantly, so be sure to have windows to crack or some kind of ventilation. Ask your venue if they have any issues with regulating the temperatures and how their ventilation system works. Keep guests extra warm by offering a hot chocolate/coffee bar with cordials, perfect pairing for dessert and great way to end the night!

Winter Weddings

Since the winter isn’t a peak time to get married in most parts of the country, you can score some discounts. Often times, venues will offer specials in the winter months, other vendors offer special deals over the cold-weathered months too. One area where you will not save is with your florist. Since there are fewer flowers in season, you may have to pay a premium or forego your first (second or third) choice bloom.
Before including a new exercise routine is to meet your dietary health expert or physician who can also inform you more about these magic pills, let us first understand what erectile dysfunction is. tadalafil online uk But it is medically proved that it viagra without buy prescription is effective for treating men suffering from erectile dysfunction. The therapist will use an oil that tadalafil cialis provides moisturizing and benefits of the skin. Health Consensus Group impotence estimated that nearly half of all men over the age of 50, and buy generic cialis this link that percentage increases with age.

As a winter bride, you have to know the answer to the biggest question: what will you do if there’s a blizzard on your wedding day and no one can get there? The best way to preempt wedding disaster is to ask the “what if” questions while searching for your vendors. Be sure to ask your major vendors — venue, photographer, DJ/Band, Florist, Officiant, Hotel — what would happen if we were forced to cancel due to inclement weather. In many cases, the vendors will allow you to reschedule for another date at no additional cost, assuming they are available on the new date. Keep in mind, getting all of those vendors in the same room again on a different date isn’t always possible. If you’re wary, you may want to consider wedding insurance. Most policies will protect you against losing your deposit money due to a weather-related cancellation, meaning that you can then book a new vendor who is available on your new date without having to pay extra. Also, be prepared for some unexpected "No's," elderly people and out-of-towners will most likely say no since their might be icy road conditions or flights may be delayed and/or cancelled. It's best to have your ceremony and reception all at the same place, that way if weather conditions make traveling dangerous, guests only have to get to one place and you don't have to worry about a transportation company canceling on you.

Personally, we think more people should have winter weddings, they create the most beautiful snow-filled backdrops. Take full advantage and embrace the cold to get those amazing shots, if you're lucky, you will have a few flurries!
