We hope everyone who celebrates Easter had a lovely holiday weekend with those you love!

I (Stacey) had so much fun hosting our families yesterday! It was a small crew this year, table for 11, the perfect size (for our dining room)! We wanted everyone to be able to feast at one table, so we put in the extra leaf and ordered gold chiavari chairs from A Party Pleasing. By doing this, it created plenty of space for everyone to sit comfortably, we even had enough room for one more!

We wanted to mix the traditional pastel shades of Easter with an extra pop of color, creating that WOW factor effect! The color palette for the day: Pale blues, shades of pink, green, whites and gold. The linens were a gorgeous pale blue and creamy white (Williams Sonoma, Painterly Damask Tablecloth & Napkins) perfect for any spring or summer event you may be hosting. We used a mix of vintage, antique plates that were my Grandmother-in-laws. Each guest were greeted at their place setting by a pretty die cut peony place card purchased at Laura Clare’s Florist in Bernardsville, NJ and a yummy chocolate bunny pop from Enjou Chocolat in Morristown, NJ, we tied them with beautiful blue ribbon. The centerpiece was a mix of a few of our favorite’s: blue hydrangea, pink peonies, white tulips and silver dollar eucalyptus done by Laura @ Laura Clare’s – she let us hand select the florals and she arranged everything so beautifully for us in a low, gold mercury glass pedestal vase. She definitely knows my taste to a T! For the double chandeliers in the room, I really wanted to create a garden like atmosphere indoors – fresh eucalyptus from Laura and live ivy and bright pink tulips from plants purchased from one of my favorite places, Morris County Farms in Denville, NJ.

The dinner menu: Roasted rosemary chickens, chive and dill mashed potatoes, melon arugula salad with homeade lemon dressing, roasted snap peas with asparagus and my mother’s homeade rolls. For sweets, we enjoyed a beautiful fruit platter + red velvet cupcakes made by my Mom (family tradition since before they were a worldwide favorite), vanilla cupcakes with lemon zest icing that I made, mini chocolate chip cookies and cheesecake that my mother-in-law made, cute little lemon sugar cookies from Williams Sonoma and of course jelly beans galore! Everything was delicious over our chai tea latte’s, Starbucks house blend coffees and iced hot chocolate for the kids (thank goodness for Keurig’s)!
