One of my favorite honeymoon touches is coordinating special surprises from the Groom to his Bride. Two of my FAVORITE SURPRISES are Rose Petal Turn Down Services and a Private Dinner in a special location.
A Rose Petal Turn Down Service usually includes some of the following touches: a flower petal trail, champagne, candle, oil and chocolate covered strawberries. When I review this idea to a soon-to-be groom, I always suggest this service to be arranged on a evening that we already prearranged a dining reservation. Therefore, it is guaranteed to be a surprise!
A private dining experience in a secluded beach area makes for a wonderful romantic setting. The dinner is usually is a special five course custom meal prepared especially for the honeymooners. At some resorts, the dinner would entail a brief 15-20 minute consultation with the Chef, the day prior to go over any specific requests, likes, dislikes, etc., to ensure the dinner is personalized to each guest’s taste. I also recommend starting the dinner right before sunset. This allows for a wonderful sunset beginning the dinner, which turns into a magical evening under a canopy of stars.
Either alone or the combination of both of these surprises guarantees fabulous evening that the Bride won’t forget! And gentleman, these are nice etiquette on any special vacation, not just honeymoons-wink, wink!
