Shana grew up in Orangeburg, New York and Jamie is originally from Stratford, New Jersey. They met in 2006 while playing college soccer at Ramapo College of New Jersey and began dating a few months later.
After graduation, Shana went to receive her MBA in NYC and Jamie moved to an apartment in Mahwah, New Jersey. Shortly after Shana received a job in NYC while Jamie was working in Westchester, they decided to move to Hoboken, New Jersey.
They started a tradition of spending New Years Eve at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City. January 2013, James, Shana, her sister and sister’s boyfriend headed down to celebrate the New Year. This year was not like every other. Jamie purchased Shana’s engagement ring around Christmas time (with his sister), he held on to it until it was the perfect time. Funny story is he kept the ring at his office in Westchester and sent Brittany through his office window to pick up the ring before heading down to Atlantic City.

On NYE, everyone got ready and headed to dinner at their favorite restaurant – Bobby Flays. They finished their appetizers and James needed to grab something from the room and Shana wanted to change her shoes.
