One of the hottest trends right now for weddings is 1920’s vintage style and we are in love with it! Think lace, beaded gowns, your Grandmother’s jewels, old hollywood, ivory flowers, jazz bands & fireworks.

The vintage trend had been on the rise for a couple of years now, but with Downtown Abbey and the upcoming remake of The Great Gatsby (we can’t wait!), it has become one of the biggest trends this year..with an extra splash of old hollywood (check out the movie trailer).

The 1920’s was a time that Jazz influenced the shift in women’s fashions-drop waist dresses, shift dresses and the “flapper” fashions all evolved. The Charleston was the song of this era and Vogue & Harper’s Bazaar were launched selling women’s fashions for the first time. Some choose to implement many of these styles into their wedding while others just a few, for a more modern feel. We are big believers in less is more.

Most vintage weddings have a strong ivory base with touches of muted colors, black, gold or pewter. Check out the pictures below for inspiration for your own 1920’s inspired wedding! This vintage cake topper was used on our very own, Stacey Sainato’s, wedding cake. It’s a family tradition amongst her family and is passed on through all the cousins for all the family weddings. We just love family traditions! Photo by: Images by Berit
